The New Zealand Curriculum Design Institute Research Lyceum
is an inclusive and collegial group who meet to develop research capacity with a view to developing capacity and supporting research excellence.
The Research Lyceum is designed to cost effectively optimise and improve higher education organisation research outcomes.
The NZCDI Research Lyceum provides to its members:

In 2012 options are:
a). Understanding Research – Developing and Participating Effectively in a Research Culture
This course examines the core purposes and contributions a research culture makes to individuals, communities, and national-international development goals. Research definitions and the Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF) system is examined. Participants will also examine a) how to contribute to an organisation’s research culture and b) gather ideas for further developing their own research expertise.
b). Systematically Developing Students Research and Critical Thinking Skills
Developing higher level research and critical thinking skills can provide a challenge for higher education and tertiary educators. This course provides three developmental frameworks that can support effective and measurable changes in adult students’ research readiness and critical thinking capabilities. This course is ideal for lecturers and tutors wanting to improve learner higher and associative thinking capacities in advanced programmes.

c) Planning for and Understanding Creative Research
The New Zealand Performance-based Research Fund (PBRF) has the capacity to recognise and evaluate a range of types of research outputs. planning framework, quality considerations and exemplars of PBRF recognised creative research outputs. This course is ideal for lecturers, tutors and managers wanting to produce quality creative research outputs and have these recognised within the PBRF system.
